(Berlin, CGs Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich)
Visa Requirements
- Original, signed United States Diplomatic or Official passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity, after completion of stay in Germany, and contain at least one blank visa page
- 2 Fully completed and signed Application forms
- Applications must be filled ON-LINE, PRINTED and SIGNED before submitting
- Each traveler must have separate on-line application
- On-Line visa application at http://visa.diplo.de
- Print two (2) copies, each should have its own barcode
- (two) German Supplemental form must be submitted for assignment travel
- Diplomatic Note
- Original signature required on ALL forms
- Title and purpose required
- Visas for longer than 90 days must/must be obtained before travel
- Detailees to EUCOM, AFRICOM, SOCEUR, USAREUR and other military commands in Germany should not/not apply for diplomatic visas
- Visas cannot/not be submitted until 10 (ten) days after assignment notification has been sent
- German visas are single-entry only
- Must include name of person replacing for PCS
- Use Dip title, if entitled
- If no incumbent, provide a position letter in detail
- If spouse name different, submit marriage cert.
- Dependents with different last name or foreign-born minors provide BC
- Notarized authorization from non-traveling parent required
- Complete Declaration form for Dependents over 18
- Photographs: 2 (Paperclip photos – No Staples!)
- Photos must conform to accepted international standards – please see attached photo requirements

TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION (TA)
- No visa required up to 90 days for Diplomatic and Regular Passport.
- ALL ASSIGNMENT VISA APPLICATIONS WILL BE SUBMITTED THROUGH Special Issuance Agency -SIA – per Embassy 11/10/2015
Minimum Processing Time – 3-4 weeks
